Portuguese League: FC Porto-SC Braga (Match Report)

We’re back in business! After a series of bad results leading into the 2 week break, Porto really needed to win last night – it didn’t matter how, they just needed a win. And they got one. Portuguese League: GD Estoril Praia-FC Porto (Match Report)

GD Estoril Praia 1-1 FC Porto (Estádio António Coimbra da Mota), 17 September 2022 – match report below

Line-up (4x4x2): Diogo Costa, Rodrigo Conceição, Fábio Cardoso, David Carmo, Zaidu; Uribe, Eustáquio, André Franco, Pepê; Taremi, Evanilson

Also played: Grujic, Galeno, Veron, Loader and Toni Martinez.

There is a gaping hole in midfield and this is not going to be resolved until, most likely, next season.

Also played: Eustáquio, Otávio, Galeno, Veron and Toni Martinez.

Another win for Porto, but this one was really tough. Vizela was a formidable opponent who created a lot of problems, on offense and on defence. Some of the issues I had identified in previous games really came to light in this game. I hope this was an eye opener for Sérgio ahead of the match against Sporting, because if we play this way next week it won’t end well.

But I think it’s really important to stress how amazing of a job he has done and why he is absolutely integral to this team’s success, so here we go.
